Cobra Boxing Club founder Angelo identifies as a student of the martial arts with a passion for physical fitness. Having been introduced at a very young age to martial artist and actor Bruce Lee, Angelo ecame fascinated by Kung Fu and began training at the age of 12. Little did he know at the time but Bruce Lee would become Angelo’s lifelong idol, influencing him to focus on studying various martial arts both through physical training and mental training in the form of collecting and reading many books on different martial arts and related texts.
Cobra Boxing Club was started tohelp address certain problems arising amongst children: obesity, mental health and youth crime.
With each of the mentioned problems steadily on the rise and predicted to get worse over the coming years, Angelo wanted to use his knowledge in the martial arts and experience as a qualified personal fitness trainer to give back to his local community of Roehampton in South West London.
With finance being a big factor in a child’s participation in any sport or fitness session, Angelo sought to provide free of charge sessions with the aim of tackling the rise in obesity, mental health and crime whilst also working to instil the club’s core values in children.
